Board Certified in Dermatology Dr. Lawrence Samuels is a Board Certified Dermatologist and was one of the early adopters of using the microscope to create follicular unit hair grafts for hair transplantation surgery. Dr. Lawrence Samuels and his staff are devoted to performing all microscopically prepared follicular unit hair grafts for transplants. He is a Board Certified Dermatologist and has specialized in hair transplantation since 1989. Dr. Samuels was one of the early adopters of using the microscope to create follicular unit grafts. Follicular unit grafts contain 1-4 hairs in each graft. Dr. Samuels carefully creates all incisions for these grafts personally, determining the pattern, density and direction of the new hair. He then works with the highly experienced medical technicians in placing these follicular unit grafts. Due to the large amount of time and attention he and his staff devote to the patient, they often limit themselves to doing only one patient per day. Follicular unit grafts allow Dr. Samuels to repair patients who have outdated procedures or poor results from previous hair transplant surgery. Dr. Samuels is very committed to using the most advanced technology and technicians to assure that his patients get optimal results with a minimum of discomfort. He and his staff are very dedicated and continue to improve their surgical process. They regularly attend the international hair transplantation conferences to share new techniques and information. Unlike many of the commercial hair transplant clinics that advertise aggressively in the media, Dr. Samuels does very little advertising. Instead he receives the majority of his patients as referrals from his many happy patients and from the many cosmetic surgeons who know the quality of his work. Dr. Samuels performs his own consultations, which are free of charge. His fees are also modest by national standards. His office and surgical suite are on the campus of St. Luke's Hospital in West County of St. Louis with ample free parking.
